André Livramento Magnani
André Magnani is the head of international strategy at Roku, the leading connected TV platform in the Americas. He keeps busy by ensuring that Roku continues to grow internationally, in both markets it already operates in and in planning Roku’s continued expansion throughout the world.
In this professional role, he draws upon 15 years’ experience in tech and media. He started his career at HBO, helping bring its international business into the digital media and streaming world. Then as a consultant for Accenture strategy, he expanded that influence to clients like Comcast Universal, Ipsos, Time Warner, SiriusXM, Itochu Corp, AlJazeera, and Charter Communications. In each of these engagements, he led the evolution and expansion of the media industry into the digital realm. Examples include, an impression-based targeted TV ad platform, extension of satellite radio services into mobile and connected car applications, geographic expansion of TV networks, M&A strategy, and operationalizing ad research products across 80+ countries.
Since hanging up the consultancy hat, André has become an in-house strategist for tech companies. Before Roku he worked for Google, where he helped its Global Product Leadership team shape a strategy that saw a threefold increase in a multi-billion dollar YouTube and Video ad business. His contributions in strategy ranged from brand-safety, conquesting for TV ad budgets, demand-side platforms, pricing, and targeting abilities.
His family life is as complicated and diverse as the professional. After a few laps around the world, he’s currently settled in Brooklyn with his wife, Carmina, and 2-year old daughter Olivia. André is Brazilian, Carmina is Chilean, and Olivia is a native New Yorker, making every conversation in their household a delicious language-salad.
André is also an enthusiastic member of Open NYC, a nonprofit that advocates for increased availability of housing in NYC, while also shaping policy and supporting political candidates who share this goal. You can occasionally find him in a city commission hearing, waxing poetic about the virtues of providing walls and roofs to human beings.
André has an International MBA from IE Business School, and a bachelor’s in International Business from Florida International University.
